Lucky

This is a present for my friend Mathilde because sadly Lucky is no longer with us and I know she misses him.

Theo

Theo was commissioned as a Christmas present and he's shown here in his mount and sleeve, ready to be posted. I had to use a bit of 'artistic licence' with his right eye because I couldn't see any detail in it at all from the photo. I rather like the challenge of doing white pets and my 'Soft Grey' coloured pencil is the one I turn to most because it adds texture without darkening.

Simba

Lovely bay Irish Draught x TB gelding. This was a commission for his owner. The photo wasn't the clearest but I managed to zoom in enough to get plenty of detail. The drawing is currently on its way to England to be followed shortly by the horse himself, who is being transported back from France next week.

Tiger

I haven't updated my blog for ages; I've been having trouble uploading pictures. I have been really busy doing commissions in time for Christmas -but I can't post them on here yet in case it ruins the surprise for anyone! I treated myself to some lovely Faber Castell coloured pencils (my goodness, they are not cheap!) and have been having a bit of an experiment with colour. This tiger was just for fun so I could practice different fur textures. The background hasn't photographed well, but it is done in charcoal -another departure for me as I don't normally do backgrounds.

Kinnskjona (Kinna), a really unusual snowcap Appaloosa who belongs to my friend Helen. There was a lot of detail with all those spots!

Have started getting ready for an exhibition at the 'Mumpreneur' show at Pibrac on 26th March. Currently drawing my own white cat, Blizzard, (not that easy!) and need to get started on some pen & inks of buildings. I prefer drawing animals but the wedding venues and houses make great presents.
